What does a typical weekday morning look like for you?

A typical weekday morning for me starts with Advocare spark, a probiotic and amino acid supplements. I try to drink a full glass of water in the morning before I do anything else. Then I get myself and 2 youngest children ready to get out the door. My older 2 get ready by themselves but still need reminders ie. eat breakfast and make lunch 🙂 I usually have a cup of coffee and eat something before heading to PSF. I usually eat 2 egg whites, scrambled eggs, or 1/2 a whey protein shake for energy.

How do you answer the excuse “I have no time to workout”?

For myself, I can always find time for at least a 30 min. class and I make it one of my top priorities. Even when I am really busy, I find time for exercise because I realize that skipping workouts leads to mental frustration and less productivity. For others, I tell people that even short durations of exercise will greatly improve there health! Not only the physical benefits but the mental ones

What are some tips for creating time to workout for busy moms?

  1. Make a commitment that you can stick to. Maybe start with working out 3-4 times per week and then add more days in.
  2. Pick classes that are going to be most efficient use of your time.
  3. Set out your workout clothes the night before your scheduled class.
  4. Arrange with your husband/partner availability to watch children on the weekends in order to get a workout in.
  5. Deciding that self-care needs to be at the top of your “to-do” list.

Why is variety so important when making a workout schedule? How does your personal workout/teaching schedule incorporate variety?

Variety is so important because you want to continually challenge yourself. Mixing up different classes means challenging your muscles and making you stronger. My teaching schedule has great variety. I incorporate weights 4 days a week and do cardio at least 6 days a week. On Wednesdays and Sundays I do not teach but I usually take those days as opportunities to try another PSF class or do weights/core on my own.

Describe the PSF community and how it helps so many stick to their goals:

The PSF community is unlike any other place in the city! There are so many women and men that are committed to PSF and realize the “difference” when it comes to working out. PSF not only provides great workouts but people are supportive and kind! I have made some wonderful friends at PSF. The other thing that sets the PSF community apart is all of the fun events and themes that happen throughout the year. It keeps things fun and fresh!
