If you need to skip dairy and eggs due to a food allergy or intolerance, don’t worry! There are plenty of great food options for dinner. In fact, many of the recipes you love can likely be adjusted to accommodate those restrictions!
No Cheese? No Problem?
In terms of dairy, cheese could be the hardest food you have to work around. Luckily, there are plenty of great, non-dairy options available these days and some are even vegan options. If those don’t float your proverbial boat, you can often omit the cheese altogether.
No Milk? No Problem?
Good news here too. Just like there are cheese alternatives, there are also milk alternatives! My guess is that you already knew that. But did you know that those milk alternatives can be used in place of dairy milk in your recipes? It’s true, for the most part. Just be sure your soy or almond milk or whatever milk you’re enjoying, isn’t flavored and doesn’t have any added sugar. And my recommendation is to experiment. You might find those alt milks work better in some recipes than others.
No Eggs? You got, No Problem!
Eggs can be a bit tricky, because they’re in quite a few prepared foods. But when you start from scratch, it can be a bit easier. So, make your dinner meal from whole foods and you should be good to go. Beans, whole grains, vegetables, fruit and lean proteins don’t contain eggs! Yay! So load your plate with those. And for baking, you can even use ground flax seed or chia seed as an egg replacer!
